Get to know Cindy:

How would you describe your role/ duties?
No two days are the same and the job never gets boring! I administer the defined contribution plans as well as manage distributions, hardships, loans, RMDs, investment liaison, client communications, terminations, and whatever else falls on my lap on any given day.

What’s your background?
My family moved from Bucks County, PA to the big town of Wampum, PA when I was 16 years old. Being one of 13 children, Wampum’s population practically doubled when we moved there. After graduating high school, I worked full time and attended college in the evenings. It took 9 years, but I did earn my bachelor’s degree in communications and business.
I worked at a Fortune 500 company for many years in the role of Marketing Support Manager for the biotechnology division. Once I had my children, I became a stay-at-home mom while running my own company whereby I provided marketing, computer, and administrative services for a wide variety of clients. Spending time with my 3 children was my biggest priority. I cherished every moment with them (and I still do). I am so proud of the successful, young adults they have become.

What are the values that drive you?
Client servicing is my strongest attribute. I pride myself on treating people with kindness and respect and by always going the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Fourteen years ago, a friend asked me to help out at Actuarial Data Inc. part-time. Part-time didn’t last too long, within months, I was working full-time. I love to learn and can honestly say, this industry did involve a huge learning curve, but I learned and digested everything I could. I did receive many industry-related certifications along the way and I will continue to expand my knowledge in the future. Due to my love of learning and expanded responsibilities, I have proved to be a strong asset to our amazing ADI team.

Your top 3 favorite Podcasts/Books?
I was going to write a book, “401K for Dummies,” but then I saw someone already beat me to it! So, I read it instead! I do spend a lot of time staying up with the ever-changing pension industry as well as listening to podcasts from the experts (or so they say) in the pension plan arena. “I can’t” is not a part of my vocabulary
it only fuels the fire for me to learn and to be able to say, “I can.”

What are your hobbies?
Spending the days with my children and being involved in their lives was my biggest and most rewarding hobby. I love arts & crafts, bicycling, exercising, swimming, fishing, hiking, long side-by-side rides, flea markets, Bunco, Bingo, and nurturing my multitude of plants. I cherish the time I spend with my crazy family and friends the most!
